Polar Bears - Cape Tatnum
Awaken your senses and engulf yourself in the majesty and beauty of the Canadian sub-Arctic. As you step off your charter plane a fresh, crisp breeze meets your face, carrying with it the fresh scent of the fall flora and Hudson Bay’s light salt air. Excitement heightens your awareness as you gaze out at taiga forests and tundra ponds millions of years in the making. Eskers twist and turn, meeting marshy bogs as they make their way across the delicate ecosystem.

The cry of geese flying in formation overhead turns your eyes skyward where you also discover raptors diving for field mice and rabbits scurrying along the ground. Don’t stare up for too long, or you might miss the sleek stealthy caribou dashing across the tundra or the Arctic fox darting behind a large rock. A beluga whale surfaces as you approach the water. On the shore seals sun themselves, ever watchful of the multitude of polar bears that hunt them.

Behind you, the lodge promises cozy corners and rustic rooms to relax and rejuvenate in at the end of the day. You consider a deeper exploration of the Hudson Bay shoreline, but the intoxicating aroma of fresh-baked bread draws you into the lodge for the first of many hearty meals enjoyed over real-life bear tales shared by the staff and guests.

You have arrived at Cape Tatnum and an adventure awaits you.
