Aurora Solar Max Guided Odyssey
As we enter 2013 we find our small planet dramatically affected by our sun's 11-year sun spot cycle. Late 2012 and early 2013 will see a maximum of solar activity resulting in what is predicted to be the most dramatic aurora displays in a decade.

Led by Dr. Douglas Duncan, this Odyssey is primarily staged at a remote Arctic lodge east of Yellowknife, just north of Great Slave Lake. Far removed from viewing inhibitors, such as city lights, this location provides the best opportunity to experience the Northern Lights in full splendor – the curtains of color that are the “Piece de Resistance” – because it lies close to the 20 degree arc from the Geo-Magnetic North Pole. This particular site also provides a wide range of winter recreation alternatives, as well as unique cultural and ecological learning experiences.

Limited to 12 participants, you can look and linger without the encumbrance of artificial schedules in the pristine environment only our far north regions can provide. During the day, you will have a menu of active pursuits from which to choose, including dog sledding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, snow-shelter/igloo building, and ice fishing.
